Welcome to the Mountain View Baptist Church Awana Ministry Program. Each club is designed to work within the age group training and equipping your children with God’s word.

Please note: Parents/guardians may stay at the church during Awana nights in a designated area or in their vehicles. Parents/guardians that choose to leave, must promptly return at 8:00pm to pick up their children.

Also, all teachers and support staff have undergone thorough background checks.

Kayla Bangs, Cubbies Director

Welcome to Cubbies

Our club is a non-competitive class for ages 3 & 4-year-old children. A simple Bible truth is presented along with memorization of one and two words per short Bible verse. They advance in their books as a group and earn awards for their vest as a group. Leaders use games, puppets, awards and other activities to encourage lively, weekly experiences where fun and learning God’s Word go hand in hand.

Dorthy Due, Sparky’s Director

Welcome to Sparky’s

Sparks – Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades – a three book series based on “Sparky”, a firefly.  Bible memorization is completed in these books to earn patches and jewels for their vest.  A Bible story is presented, and the group participates in a game time.

Sparks takes boys and girls a step deeper into God’s Word while presenting them with regular opportunities to hear the gospel and come to faith in Jesus Christ

Welcome to T&T

Truth and Training – grades 3, 4, 5 and 6 – a four book series. Grades 3 & 4 will have a separate rotation from grades 5 & 6.   Bible memorization is completed along with activities and service projects to earn awards for the badge that is worn on their T & T tee shirt.  The group attends council time with a Biblical message and a competitive game time. Truth and Training’s goal is to teach boys and girls the truth of God’s Word and to train them to follow Christ in their daily lives.

Tim Penman, Trek & Journey Director

Welcome to Trek & Journey

Trek

The purpose of the Trek program is the same as the entire AWANA program which is to reach out to the 7-8 graders and share the Gospel with them. We go through a book series that takes the student through the Bible explaining how the Bible is divided into sections, the culture of the times and how it relates to us now. We also have some pretty intense game times, that help let out some energy. Games are varied and we learn some new ones along the way. We also take some time to go through the clubbers books to see how they are picking up God’s word and storing it in their hearts. The clubbers are rewarded with Trek Bucks as lessons in their books are completed. Trek bucks can be used toward going to summer camp or purchasing some fun items in the AWANA store.

Journey

The journey program is for high school students and takes a closer look at the scriptures. In this program the clubbers have several books and topics they can choose to study over the year. Journey meets before AWANA starts so that the high school students (those who are Leaders in training) can get to the AWANA group they are helping. This group often will take a topic and do some in-depth research which is shared the next week. Those interested in obtaining their AWANA citation award are included in, and must complete this study.
